Have you ever had a recommendation from a friend for an amazing foundation, then tried it and hated it? A foundation for her or her might actually dry up and flake on your skin. Or it could just create a greasy hot mess. This is because we all have different skin types and skin tones. Each of our desires are different and then of course age also plays a big role. BUT when a product proves its amazingness through thousands and thousands of reviews.... there must be something to it, right?
For a few years now, I have developed a new hobby; I am a self proclaimed review junkie. Looking up reviews has been something that my husband and I have always done before a big purchase, but I decided to dig quite a bit deeper and specifically with beauty products. I've spent a lot of time researching between a plethora of websites. I want as much proof as possible that what I'm going to buy will be worth it. After all, who likes buyer's remorse?
Since some websites and/or brands can almost be exclusive to a certain demographic, my list of sites are completely random to ensure every kind of woman, age, budget, etc. I don't like 3 out of 5 stars or even 3.5. I want to see a good amount of reviews, from a few different sources with a minimum of 4 out of 5. Beautypedia is a frequent resource of mine, Paula Begoun knows her stuff and I like to know her opinion on any product. On top of that, if I purchase a product from a store that does samples... I take full advantage of that. It works out nicely because I have sensitive skin and I'm able to try something for a few days before actually committing to it with $$$ and high hopes.
SO, I hope you can gain something from my research! It has been a big motivator in starting this blog, I have learned so much and I just want to share it all. You CAN find the right products to meet your needs.
